Safeguard your motorcycle from theft

Feb 09, 2024

Motorcycle theft videos make my blood boil and literally give me migraines. Since not all of us are lucky enough to have a closed space for our motorcyclees, I thought I'd share my go-to solutions for a peace of mind, no matter where I have to stationed my bike.

Toughness redefined

Litelok was so kind to provide me with their Litelok X1. And after putting it through the test, I'm sharing my honest opinion here :

One of the key features that sets Litelok apart from other locks on the market is its strength. Made from a patented composite material called Barronium, Litelok is incredibly strong and proven to outperform any other lock when facing angle grinding attempts.

Since thieves prefer the quick&easy route, the fact that it will take them forever and a day to grind trough your lock will make them give up sooner or later. After all most of them aren't equipped with extra angle grinder discs, which adds another hurdle in their way.

With a weight of 1.7kg only, hence without being excessively heavy, bulky, massively expensive or incredibly unpractical, making it incredibly easy to secure your motorcycle.

I usually just transport it in my backpack but depending on your motorcycle you can also attach it to it by using a carry strap. This means you can take your Litelok with you wherever you go, ensuring your motorcycle is always protected. After all their X1Lock was named officially best bike lock of 2023.

Another advice

How else can you secure your ride? Besides using a lock, I prefer adding an extra layer of protection with a hidden GPS Tracker on my motorcycle.

I steer clear of placing it under the seat since that's the first place thieves tend to look. Airtags are also off my list due to the risk of Apple devices detecting them, hence making thieves aware of it. My recommendation? Opt for an Invoxia Tracker or Monimoto, offering real-time location updates and alerting me if my bike's position changes unexpectedly (you know, just in case someone tries to tip it over).

Just make sure to verify its compatibility with the countries you'll be using it in.
